- Determine how far away you currently are from your target score (even if you have taken an official or other practice test, another data point is useful)
- Get a first inventory of where your strengths and weaknesses lie
Without understanding how far you are from your target score and where you need to improve the most, neither you nor we can estimate the magnitude of the task ahead, e.g.:
- What sort of score increase do you need to meet at least the average score of your target schools?
- How realistic is that score increase?
- How long will it take to achieve (i.e. How many study hours? How many tutorial sessions? How many practice questions/tests do you need to cover?)
- Which areas do you need to focus on?
- Where is the low-hanging fruit, and which areas will take longer to improve (necessitating an early concentration on them)?
- Etc.
ActiveTracker diagnostic tool
Upon paying for the first session, we also give you unlimited access to the GMATPro121 ActiveTracker, a proprietary diagnostic tool designed to help you get the most out of the official practice questions, as well as GMATPro121's supplementary practice questions and tests (also available free from your first session).
Tuition program
Once your diagnostic test is completed we will check availability in the network for tutors matching your profile, objectives and preferred meetings days and times. A first session is then arranged, and we send you your tutor's score report and contact details.
During the first session, your tutor will review your diagnostic test in order to better understand your strengths and weaknesses. We find that the first session can also be a useful time to address students' general questions and concerns about the test, so that they feel confident that their future study efforts are well-spent. By the end of the first session, your tutor will give you clear guidance and homework to complete before the next session, as well as a rough outline of study program.
All tuition is customized to each student's particular profile and objectives and usually takes place in the student's home (or other mutually agreeable location).
Costs
Please contact us for this application season's latest rates, which are 30-50% per hour less than what the large brands charge, even though we guarantee you an expert 750+ tutoring specialist.
Fees are payable in advance (via Google Checkout or alternate agreed method), but are completely Pay-As-You-Go (bulk discounts available - please enquire). This means tutors must deliver value every session to keep your business. With most students taking between 8-16 hours' total tuition and reporting substantial score increases, total cost to the student tends to come in significantly below that of a branded course, yet...
- with less financial risk to you at any given time (no big up-front fees ever)
- at far greater convenience (visits to your home at mutually agreed times, typically outside of normal work hours)
- in less time (an hour of 1-on-1 tuition is much more effective than an hour in classroom receiving one-size-fits-all generic content)
- with better results (because the program is matched to your profile by outstanding, high-scoring tutors who are specialists in 1-on-1 tuition)
Note of caution: please beware the potential false economy of choosing a test preparation service on the basis of cost per hour alone. GMAT preparation is NOT a commodity service. No one knows this better than us -- as more than half our students come to us after having spent a considerable amount of money on cheaper (on a per-hour basis) services that failed to help them achieve their score objective. How are we able to offer better preparation at lower cost than our competitors do? Because our business model is lean; the cost structure reflects our focus on what's important:
- We provide motivating rates of pay to attract the best 1-on-1 tutors
- We avoid unnecessary overhead costs (such as a costly meeting venue)
Conditions
Our instructors can travel to you or a mutually convenient location, provided:
- Minimum two-hour session
- Maximum half-hour door-to-door commute from city center on public transportation
Weekday evenings and weekends preferred (though occasionally weekday daytimes are available - please inquire).
